Ingredients you will need:

  • Thick yogurt or curd- 1+1/2 cup
  • Garlic (minced)- 5 medium sized cloves (more if smaller)
  • Fresh basil leaves- 6
  • Lemon juice- 1+1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil- 2 teaspoon
  • Fresh Coriander (chopped)- 1 teaspoon
  • Ground black pepper- 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt- to taste
  • Green chillies (chopped, optional)- 2

Steps to make yogurt garlic dip:

  • In a bowl, slightly whisk the thick yogurt to make smooth. You can use normal homemade curd, just hang the curd and refrigerate it to remove excess water.
  • Finely chop the garlic cloves and fresh basil and keep aside.
  • In a small pan, lightly heat 2 teaspoons of olive oil, and add the garlic. Cook the garlic on low heat, until slight aromatic and golden. Remove from heat and add to the yogurt.
  • On top of it, add rest of the ingredients and cover with a cling wrap. It is very important to refrigerate this dip for at least an hour before eating, so that all flavors combine well.
  • Garnish with a basil leaf on top and serve with chips, fries, carrots, assorted bread on platter.
