Pistachio and Yogurt Dip
Creamy, tangy, nutty, pistachio and yogurt dip with a hint of garlic, lemon and dill. A healthy and tasty accompaniment for chips and lavash.

Another very simple, easy, yet delicious dip recipe is here for you. The base is hung curd/yogurt/labneh, mixed with a pistachio, dill and garlic paste. This dip tastes so fresh and is a perfect accompaniment with chips, wafers, lavash, nachos and even vegetables.
In my earlier posts, I’ve mentioned a couple of other dips under the category of Chutney, Sauces and Dips, consisting of a variety of hummus recipes, dips with yogurt/labneh as a base and Indian chutneys. I find these dips are an important part of each get together and all my friends look forward to trying something new every-time. They are easy to make and trust me, people are going to love them.
The ingredients used in the recipe are easily available in every pantry, and if you cannot find fresh dill, you can simply skip it.

Ingredients for Pistachio and yogurt dip
- Dip
- Garlic- 4-5 cloves
- Pistachios- 1/2 cup
- Fresh dill- handful
- Cumin seeds- 1 teaspoon
- Lemon juice- 1 teaspoon
- Salt- to taste
- Olive oil- 1/4 cup
- Fresh/dried mint- 1/2 teaspoon
- Yogurt- 1.5 cups
- Garnish
- Olive oil – 1 teaspoon
- Butter- 1 teaspoon
- Garlic- 1 clove (chopped)
- Pistachios- 1 tablespoon (chopped)
Steps:
- In a pan dry roast garlic cloves and pistachios for 2 minutes on low heat and transfer to a mixer-grinder jar.
- To the jar add dill, cumin seeds, lemon juice and salt to make a coarse paste.
- Open the jar and add olive oil and mint. Grind again to make a coarse paste.
- Add yogurt to the jar and lightly mix on pulse mode for a maximum of 2 seconds.
- Transfer the contents to a serving bowl.
- To prepare the garnish, in a small sauce pan add olive oil with butter, followed by garlic and chopped pistachios. Cook this on low heat for 30 seconds until aromatic. Pour this crunchy garnish on top of the dip and serve cold.
