Zaatar Zaatar Zaatar Zaaaaatarr
Hello HTS Community
Zaatar is a versatile spice blend from the Middle East that can be used with multitude of things. Sprinkle it on the hummus, labneh, baba ganoush, avocado toast, rub it on lamb, chicken, etc. or simply mix with olive oil and use on pita to make manakish zaatar.
Zaatar is a delicious blend, created with dried herbs such as thyme, oregano, marjoram, cumin , sesame seeds, sea salt and the most important Sumac. This is what brings that tangy hint to Zaatar, made with dried flower berries, it’s a complete hit and essential to making Zaatar.
On several occasions, I have used Zaatar as a marinade for roasting vegetables for a salad/side, and the taste is very different and amusing to the taste buds.
